Introductions of the People on the Advanced Course 

  • The Film Production and the excitement of producing and making an Advanced Film.
  • The Film Production Plan and BreakdownStory Invention Workshop. In this session we create the Story for the Film Production. The teacher will show you exactly how to create a story that grabs your audience.

2  Wednesday 19th October 2022 –  Zoom Meeting Preproduction   Zoom Meeting  6.30pm – 8.30pm 

  •  Location scouting  
  • Scheduling the Film 
  • Setting up casting call
  • Props and wardrobe discussion
 

3 Saturday 22nd October   9am – 1pm     Casting Saturday  – Flinders Street Location     

  •  Casting actors professionally   Actors should be scheduled for 10 minutes slots
  • ⇀ Set up the Lights and Camera for casting.  Camera operators will be rotated throughout the night
  • ⇀ You will direct the actors during their audition, assisting them to provide their best performance.

Result: You will cast the advanced film effectively by doing it for real for your short film.

  • How to compose Shots and Composition
  • Learning from the masters 
  • Preparing for our shoot

  • Production Design 

5  Wednesday 2nd November  October     6.30pm – 8.30pm   Zoom Lighting and Sound 

  • Appreciation of Lighting and its Effect
  • Mood Lighting and 
  • Techniques used to create different lighting looks 
  • How to do this with the Film you will shoot soon. 

6  Saturday 5th November  9am – 1pm      Practical Saturday    Flinders Street  

  • Film Equipment  Final Training Bootcamp 

This is a Saturday session designed to give you further practice with the camera, lighting and sound equipment to ensure you are “set-ready” and the crew works as a well oiled machine. 

11Wednesday  16th November   6.30pm – 8.30pm Zoom Meeting   

Final preproduction:

  • ⇀ Final Shoot Preparations; How to prepare for shooting.
  • ⇀ Director Preparation:  Shot listing and story boarding and 
  • ⇀ Preproduction: Finalising remaining details such as: Locations, Extras, Props, Wardrobe, Set dressing

 

12 Saturday 27th November   : 8am – 6pm    THE SHOOT: Day One: 10 Hour Shooting Day9Film Shoots are on Location: Locations can be a shop or hotel or park or any variable of a film location. This is a very exciting day where one is on a real shoot and real filmThe Film Shoot Day 1–On Location.    Today you will work as a crew member. Every person revolves through the crew roles over the 3 shooting days.

Revolving Crew roles you will take on:

  6. Boom
  7. Gaffer
  8. Grip
  9. Continuity
  10. Production Runner/ A

Learn to Edit on Adobe Premiere Pro

14  Sunday  12th December  8am – 6pm    SHOOT DAY TWO : 

On Location: Set location – Teacher: Sean Smith

⇀ Your second day working as a crew member on a real film.
⇀ Crew roles continue to rotate over the 3 shooting days.

16  Film editing Session 1  Wednesday 14th December 2022     : 6.30pm – 8.30pm  Zoom 

Continue to learn how to cut and make your film
